Committees & Teams

There are many ways to get involved at LCOS, and joining a committee or ministry team is one of the best ways to build relationships, share your gifts, and participate in the life of the congregation. Whether your interests are rooted in worship, education, care, or outreach, there is a place for you here.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild cares for our worship space and helps prepare for each service. Members prepare the elements for Communion, change paraments and banners with the liturgical seasons, arrange seasonal flowers, and ensure that the worship space is well cared for. This ministry offers a meaningful way to serve behind the scenes while supporting the gathered worship of the congregation.

Property Committee

The Property Committee oversees the care and stewardship of our church building and grounds. This team helps plan, coordinate, and monitor repairs and renovations, ensuring that our physical space remains safe, welcoming, and well-maintained. Serving on this committee is a way to support the ministry of the church by tending to the place where worship, learning, and community life unfold.

Mutual Ministry Team

The Mutual Ministry Team is a small, trained group that supports the relationship between the pastor and the congregation. Members offer listening ears, thoughtful reflection, and prayerful presence as the congregation and pastor continue to grow together. The team meets quarterly and is appointed by the pastor as a trusted group to help nurture healthy communication and shared ministry.

Education Committee

The Education Committee is a small but committed group that plans and supports faith formation opportunities for all ages. From children and youth programs to adult education offerings, this team helps shape how the congregation learns, grows, and engages Scripture and Lutheran theology. New members are welcome, and fresh ideas are encouraged.

Grace Guild

The Grace Guild leads the congregation’s outreach and service ministries. This group raises funds for the New Life Center and, each Christmas, partners with Our Lady of Fatima to provide gift cards and support for families in need. Through generosity, partnership, and compassion, the Grace Guild helps LCOS live out its call to serve the wider community.
