LCOS Men's Growth Group

The LCOS Men’s Growth Group provides an avenue for men from the congregation and beyond to gather to share fellowship and grow their faith and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Each monthly gathering includes the sharing of individual activities and interests along with past and future happenings throughout the congregation with the goal of learning more about each other and to build relationships. Time is then set aside to encourage one another in prayer for all in need. At the core of every meeting is a presentation by a member or friend regarding an agreed upon topic of interest to the group with a discussion about how it relates to the Scriptures. Through these discussions, the group benefits by learning from each other about perspectives on the topic, and differing views on how it relates to the Scriptures, and their faith and devotion to the Lord. Between meetings, we use a group e-mail to maintain timely communication to keep the group informed of relevant happenings regarding the group.
Finally, one of the group’s key objectives is to provide an avenue for men to serve: This focuses on serving members and friends of the congregation and the Church overall but can include the local community. At each meeting, we set time aside to discuss the needs of specific individuals within the greater Church family, where the Church could use support toward their mission as well as local community needs. In cases where we are unable to provide direct assistance, we may provide a reference to someone who can provide the specific assistance, or in some cases we have provided financial assistance contributed by the group members.
Since our first gathering on March 1st, 2014, we have welcomed all men to come and join us at the morning LCOS Men's Growth Group: there is no need to have been affiliated with our congregation. Our scheduled time to meet is the first Saturday of every month at 8:30 AM for 90 minutes. All are free to join us, whether it’s for breakfast or just coffee. All food and beverage is “a la carte” and is charged individually.
